Jamie Shanks’ – Top 10 Social Selling Influencers

The sales leaders that have influenced our Social Selling success are not all Social Selling “subject matter experts” themselves. I’ve found I’m less inspired from “LinkedIn trainers”, and can’t get enough from sales experts with amazing sales techniques. My job is to translate these ideas into LinkedIn & Twitter best practices. The top Social Sellers realize that these tools are merely an extension of their EXISTING sales process. We at Sales for Life have taken their great ideas and spun them into a Social Selling process.

Here are the 10 thought leaders I recommend you learn from in 2013

Jill Konrath www.jillkonrath.com – Jill has really helped our business understand how to build the perfect message. Jill has designed email messages that really, really work – and we’ve used these frameworks to develop LinkedIn & Twitter messages using similar techniques.

Trish Bertuzzi www.bridgegroupinc.com – Trish brings an energy and sophistication to sales leadership that’s contagious. She is the consummate “subject matter expert” for inside sales, and I’m constantly watching and learning from her to grow as a thought-leader. She’s an example of how people will trust your opinion if you’re constantly providing value.

Matt Heinz www.heinzmarketing.com – No one has taught me the power of content marketing like Matt. His content is so rich and engaging, it’s no wonder they have clients all over the world. Content is king, and its built Matt a marketing machine.

Steve Richard www.vorsight.com – Follow his sales tips, tricks and tactics, and you’ll realize how transferable they are to Social Selling. Steve is a “Top of the Sales Funnel” genius with his sales tactics.

Ken Krogue www.kenkrogue.com – Ken is a commanding force within inside sales (and sales in general). He’s taught me to find a voice, and aim to become the absolute master of that subject (this is why he’s a Top 5 sales writer for Forbes.com)

Koka Sexton www.kokasexton.com – Koka is a prime example of what an employee can accomplish by aiming to be a “subject matter expert”. Koka has made it his mission to become the Maven for Social Selling, and his voice is among the most respected. You can’t use the excuse “ya, but I’m just a sales rep”, when you see the horsepower Koka has in the market. For another great example, check out Jill Rowley @ Eloqua.

Miles Austin www.fillthefunnel.com – The 21st century sales leader uses tools to make themselves more effective. Miles had road tested every Sales 2.0 & Social Selling tool available. Follow Miles to learn how to optimize every stage of your sales process.

Craig Elias www.shiftselling.com – of the 45+ LinkedIn opportunities I created in 2012, almost all were from specific Trigger Event opportunities. Craig has mastered understanding why these triggers give sales reps a window, and Sales for Life has mastered monitoring these triggers in a social world.

Sales 2 Social www.sales2social.com – this blog site has been a staple in my Google Reader. Sales 2 Social is a collection of all the great #SocialSelling articles in the market. If you want an endless river of information on Social Selling, this is the site.

Hubspot & Eloqua www.hubspot.com & www.eloqua.com – both of these marketing automation tools are hot for Social Selling. While their businesses were founded as email marketing tools, they have recognized the power of Social as a compliment in their marketing horsepower. They have the $ to invest in truly amazing Social Selling thought leadership.
