Linkedin Logo In bottle In The Beach

If you are a sales and/or marketing professional in today’s marketplace you have likely heard A LOT about LinkedIn. Regardless of your level of usage, most of the things you’ve heard have probably been positive. You might have heard people say something like LinkedIn is “an amazing networking tool” or “crucial for sales research.” You may have also heard some people say negative things about LinkedIn (not this guy!!).

Believe it or not there are still people out there that do not see the value in leveraging a massive online professional network to drive new business. Some have even gone as far as to say that LinkedIn is hindering sales professionals from doing their jobs because they rely too much on it instead of making more cold calls or meeting prospects face-to-face.

For anyone out there that regularly reads the blog posts that my colleagues and I at Sales for Life write on a daily basis you will know that we are all HUGE LinkedIn supporters. Our lives revolve around LinkedIn and it literally puts food on our respective tables. With that in mind, I have compiled a short list of my favorite quotes about LinkedIn below. Let me know if you’ve got any other good ones via the comments…

“One of the great things about LinkedIn is it isn’t the same kind of networking that happens at conventions, where you’re wearing a name tag, trying to meet strangers, and awkwardly attempting to make small talk. LinkedIn is networking without the pressure.”
–Melanie Pinola, Freelance Writer

“Creating easy-to-read, highly relevant content that showcases the value of your service or product can lead to warmer, increased leads and more sales from each post that you write, particularly if your content shows genuine concern and empathy for anyone who needs your services or products.”
–Jose Sanchez, Director of Marketing at Sales for Life

#5

“Traditional selling channels of email and phone are tried and true, but LinkedIn and other social channels can greatly increase sales performance.”
–Ken Krogue, Co-Founder & President at InsideSales.com

Is Your LinkedIn Profile Holding You Back

“Before LinkedIn and other social networks, in the sales world, ABC stood for Always Be Closing. Now, ABC means Always Be Connecting, because your connections lead to your next hire, your next job, your next lead, and your next close.”
–Jill Rowley, Social Selling Evangelist
