Video a Must for Communications and Marketing

Video Conferencing

When we started working with Tata Communications, I was a little nervous. They only like to do one type of communication – VIDEO. I don’t mean Skype; no, they have half-mooned video conferencing rooms that are so high-tech, you feel like you could reach out and grab the other attendees’ lunch! We had simultaneous calls in Montreal, India, San Fransisco & Europe, as easy as a normal board meeting.

After working from their office in these conferencing rooms, we retreated to our home offices – which is where we were introduced to JamVee. This is a new tool from Tata that I had to download onto my computer (taking 20-30 seconds), and now I access/share video conference calls in seconds. These aren’t your typical Skype, GoToMeeting or WebEx calls that have a little webcam function… No, these are HD calls around the world. These calls are so easy to start, manage & collaborate, I now see why Tata’s sales team is a virtual workforce.

On our last call, I took a couple of screen shots to show this tool off. The first shot is a funny story – apparently Tata sales reps had attended a webinar on “The Powers of Video Conferencing”, yet the webinar was NOT done in video???

If you’re not completely sold on video communication, video marketing (like YouTube), etc – GET ON BOARD! Every day, the sales world is becoming more and more visual & real-time. We use Digital Postcards with storytelling, YouTube videos to share ideas, and now video conferencing to network.
